Securing the future of YREC

The Yarra Ranges Enterprise Centre (YREC) in Warburton will be celebrating in November this year when we secure the site at 21 Woods Point Road, Warburton.

The site was unexpectedly placed on an ‘excess stock list’ in 2016 by the state government and faced an uncertain future. With a stronghold of business and community support via the “Save YREC” campaign, negotiations commenced in 2017 by the YREC board, successfully enabled a purchase option with a three-year term.

Key negotiator, Alison Fitzgerald, Executive Officer of YREC, says, “Securing the future of the buildings was important to the business and general community of Warburton, but the real value is the opportunity it provides local people with low-cost, start-up support to help their business dreams take shape.”
