“The golden thread throughout my career in law, professional sport, health and community psychology is that with a mindset and skillset to support our goals and collaborate with others, we can move in the directions we want,” says Paul Larkin, of 700 Consulting. “I am here to support local businesses seeking team and leadership development, 1:1 coaching, or specialised healthcare support, so they can achieve what is meaningful for them.” 700 is about enabling leaders, healthcare providers, and communities, to build trusted connections, support one another to build capability, and shape their trajectories. “Every person is a subject matter expert in their life, and by bringing my skills and training to support that, I believe we can lead powerful journeys together,” Paul says. “Adults generate 700 new brain cells in each hemisphere, every day. Let’s take the opportunity to use them to do what is meaningful to us.” “I've found this community and health work is meaningful to me, and I am focussed on supporting the community and transforming healthcare experiences and outcomes.” “I originally trained as a lawyer, and managed National and professional cycling teams from a young age after breaking my back. I then retrained (GradDipPsych, inducted to Psi Chi, Masters Applied Psychology-Community), and gained accreditation in the same methods NASA developed to train astronauts (including Space X). I am approved by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to provide non-technical skills training,” says Paul, who has also coached leaders at some of the most respected tech companies in the world. He has trained AFL premiership teams and umpires, along with extensive work in the community with not-for-profits and community schools. Paul grew up in Rotorua, New Zealand, where he never had to drive a car to get into the forests, or go mountain biking. “My family decided Warburton was the spot to bring up our young kids and walk our dog, Hank. The mountain bike destination is a big part of our decision, having seen the overwhelmingly positive impact the trails, and people who use them, has had on Rotorua.” “Establishing my business at YREC has been a great step into the Valley. I work largely by myself, and so the opportunity to have a small community around me, in a space where I could focus, learn and engage in mutual support, brings a sense of purpose and connection to my day.” Qualifications Oceania LOD Master Trainer, PCM Trainer.
